Your fish need oxygen to survive and the only source is dissolved within the structure of water; and this is strictly limited. Dependent upon conditions, this level (called the Oxygen Saturation Point) can be just 2 parts per million (ppm) above the fish's requirements. And, there is competition for this precious life source. Bacteria, plants, biological waste, decomposing vegetation, all consume oxygen and some of these are more efficient at extracting it than the fish. Airmaster can maintain maximum oxygen levels to compensate for this variable demand.
Oxygen versus Bubbles
Only 21% of air is oxygen. Just putting air-into-water and assuming that the 1/5 oxygen in each bubble will be absorbed into the water is highly optimistic. I'm sure you've watched an aquarium air stone bubble rise through the water and "pop" to atmosphere. How much oxygen did that leave behind? Probably None!
It is important to transfer oxygen to the water not just pass bubbles through it. Large bubbles tend to remain intact as they transit the water and return to atmosphere. Airmaster's microscopic bubbles plus the managed turbulence within the tube saturate the pond water with oxygen, leaving just bubbles of nitrogen and excess oxygen to decorate the water.

SOFT NOSE - FISH PROTECTOR (Optional Extra)
The constant stream of oxygen-rich bubbles into the pond can provide a point of interest for fish and it is common to find them investigating the source. For this reason many Koi Keepers choose to fit an optional "Soft Nose" to the end of the Airmaster tube as a cushion for over-curious koi to nuzzle. This soft plastic protector fits snugly on the end of both Airmaster models without obstructing the flow.

The universal 11/2-inch BS female end readily connects to any system and is easy to fit. Located just below the level of the water at an angle of around 45° sends a stream of oxygenated water and decorative bubbles into your pond - keeping your fish healthy and entertained.
