Flocor filter media|Flocor RS|Floror RM

FLOCOR RS a plastic corrugated tube which has an open structure allowing good water circulation in and around the randomly packed media when installed in a multibay biological filter or trickle filter. This ensures the entire surface of the media can be colonised by nitrifying bacteria. An additional feature of this media is its ability to settle suspended particle out of the water column. The random distribution causes the water to change direction as it passes through each piece, this creates laminar flow causing particles to drop out of suspension and settle into the media itself.

FLOCOR RM is a smaller version of RS this means more of it can be packed into the same space but it gives a bigger and therefore more effective surface area in the same volume. Both types are easiest to handle when kept in net media bags.
