Aerator disc for bottom drains.
Bottom drain aerators are used to introduce large amounts of air into the pond in such a way that causes minimal viewing disturbance.
The aerator is a flat rubber disc perforated with thousands of tiny holes through which the air is forced.

A replacement dome with aerator can be retro fitted and the air supply can be installed by simply laying an air line across the bottom of the pond.
For new build a specially designed bottom drain is available where the airline can be brought in via a separate pipe run directly into the sump of the bottom drain. The air line should be introduced during assembly of the pipe and fittings as it can be awkward to feed it through once it is all together, alternatively put string into the pipe run and use this as a pull through once you have the air line.
Choice of air pump is important. All air pumps give headline information on free air delivered, but as the aerator will be installed at the deepest part of the pond the pump must first overcome the pressure of water at that depth before the air will come through. So check the air pumps air delivery at the depth of the aerator to make sure it deliver a reasonable amount of air.The pressure at depth is:  4 foot = 1.75psi, 5 foot = 2.2psi , 6 foot = 2.65psi.

The air line for this type of equipment can vary we supply 6mm, 7mm, 8mm, 9mm and 10mm.
The secondary pipe which the air line runs in is 32mm metric, but we have also supplied other sizes which suit other makes of drain.
Always install the air pump above the water level in the pond, if this is not possible loop the air line so the top of the loop is, and if this is not feasible then put a non return valve into the air line to prevent water getting to the pump should the power go off
